i know what your thinking why do i care i really don't but i just wanna know i just want you guys opinion is.

Are they just faking?

You know I think that I only know one Emo that is African American. And honestly I think you are unique and that is probably one of the things that makes you pretty. So I don't think they were joking... if so that does not matter they do not know what is pretty with those crappy preppy clothes. I am really not a clique like person but I am sorta Emo-Skater-Rocker, well whatever they call me I mainly hang out with people like me but if somebody diff rent comes, I respect what they like if they respect me so do not change and love who you are, you are pretty no matter what!!!

Are they just faking?

WHY ARE YOUR EYES GREEN? ARE YOU TURNING INTO THE HULK OR SOMETHING?

AND TO ANSWER YOUR QUESTION! YES THAY ARE FAKING!

Are they just faking?

They're probably intrested in you. Like just want to hangout with you. Or they dont like that your not paying attention to them, since their popular. Probably just messing around to let you know that thy're better than you. But if thats the case, then dont pay any attention to them, to let them know that they are not better than you.

Are they just faking?

I'm assuming this "goth" chick is white?

Why would she be faking by telling you your hair is pretty, is the real question. Do you feel that your hair is really ugly?

You need to change your attitude about your hair. Natural african textured hair IS beautiful.

It's really a cultural thing.

Black people were taught from generation to generation for the last few hundred years that they are ugly. They were treated badly in history simply because of the color of their skin and texture of their hair. The less kinky and tight their hair texture was, the better they were treated.

Your mother probably taught you that your hair needed to be straigt to look nice before leaving to go in public, right? It's not always easy for african american hair textures to stay straight, often times our tight kinks and coils rebel at our efforts to keep them neat and straight, sticking up and out, leaving us feeling our hair is ugly, because it's not straight as it "should" be.

African americans have lost touch with the beauty that is their natural kinks and coils, and were often taught from early childhood that their hair is not right, and this probably leaves you with a constant vague sense in the pit of your stomach, that if somebody compliments you on your hair texture, or says something nice about it, they are lying.

Many whites, on the other hand, recognize the beauty of natural african american hair before we do many times. You see, whites are often not aware of the regimens that us african americans put our tresses through, and are shocked to know how many times a year we chemicalize our hair and pull scaps out of heads, and many times do not understand what the whole deal with why we do it anyway.

I have seen countless stories of interracial couples, in which the lady is black, and the man is white, and the man is begging and pleading with his woman to leave her hair alone, he is not used to the loved women is his wife spending so much time and stress on their hair, and he encourages his woman to go natural. My sister's husband, who is white, does this. I;ve seen so many internet stories as well.

My best friend, who is white and moved away several years ago would beg and plead with me to stop burning up my hair. I did not know enough to listen to her at the time, but she was right. A lot of my time was spent straightening out my hair, which would end up frizzed and messed up in the next couple of hours anyway. I had a hard time believing her when she told me she liked my hair without it being straight.

But anyway, I don't think this girl was lying to you by telling you your hair is pretty. Often times, whites see beauty in our hair texture before we learn to see it, since we have been conditioned for many years change ourselves, and many whites do not have that same conditioning.

Are they just faking?

Maybe they are making fun of you because black emo people look funny. they [black people] just dont go with it.
