You need to look into joining a modelling agency. There are plenty of child modelling agencies around, but first you need a portfolio. You need to hire a photographer, do a few photoshoots and chose the best photos for a portfolio. It'll probably be expensive, but it has to be done. Then you need to take your portfolio to modeling agencies or you can email them your pictures. Be very careful though - do a lot of research and make sure the agencies are legitamate.

Well it sounds as though you want to change your whole appearence and when doing this it is often good to find the real you! Don't copy others take little bits you like about their style and use them to create your own.

Simple! Buy a CHI straightener and start to straighten your hair. Including your bangs! Side swept bangs are still very much in. Just make sure that all your bangs aren't on just one side. Hairdresser nightmare?

I've had short hair for most of my life, but I can't seem to find a decent hairdresser these days!!! Every cut I've had over the past few years has just been terrible and I'm so sick!

I have now decided to grow my hair a little.

I would like a layered bob, but I'd like it to be wavy and a little curled instead of straight as I hate my straight hair. I know straight is fashionable at the moment, but I don't suit it.

How would it be possible to get some wavy hair without putting curlers in each morning? I wash my hair each morning and have the kids to get ready, so I don't have time to mess around styling it.

What kind of style could I ask for?

Girl i think your easiest solution would be to get a very loose perm! When you get a loose perm your hair isnt tight curls just lose and wavy and it stays in for a while so even if you dont want to do your hair in the morning all you have to do is wash it and its curly when it's dry! and you can straightnen it if you dont like it. Loose perms are a very nie style i think you should try it. :) Good Luck!!

Hi nothing wrong with short hair you sound lovely. Bobs too are classic and a layered bob would be good too. It just your luck geeting a good haircut. If you see someone with a good haircut in the street ask them who cuts it. Lots of women seem fed up with salons theses day why not check out local barbers too that has women in them you might be surprised at how good a cut you can get there and lots cheaper.

isnt it just a trend, like goth, new wave or punk? Something for kids to do to feel like theyre expressing themselves? A style to emulate from their favorite rock bands?

Should people really be so concerned? Why does everyone ridicule them? Does anyone know what it really means? Does it even mean anything, or is it just having hair over your eyes and skinny jeans? Personally, id rather see kids dressing this way than getting all tarted up to like Brittney Spears (or whatever new pop princess is on the top of the charts) or some hip-hop ho.

I dont see what everyone is so worked up about. If these kids really are "emotionally disturbed" (and what teenager isnt?) how will making jokes about them help? shouldnt people just leave these kids alone?

In my own opinion and the opinions of many other people, it is simply a trend, a style of clothing, music, and expression that is a lot less unique than they seem to think. Just like any other style, some people like it and some people hate it, but emo is different because for some reason more people seem to hate it and say ridiculous things about it than many other styles. They should just leave the kids alone, just as they should leave all other kids alone, and let everyone get on with their lives.

Personally, there are styles of things I won't wear because I am a mom. I don't need anything revealing walking around with 4 kids. My sis gave me a T-shirt with 'TEASE' written on the front- Yeah I can see me pushing my double stroller with two four-year-olds tagging along and 'TEASE' written across my chest. Yes, you are missing something. After a certain age, being trendy just isn't cool anymore...it's considered childish. Certain things should not be worn on a grown woman. Funky stripes of hair color are one of those things, as is excessive body glitter, blue nail polish on your hands, and a nose ring. Honestly, I have no kids, so I don't think that is the only issue here. Women usually like to look like women, not girls, so things like this are a fashion don't for anyone over 21.

They don't want to set a bad example for their kids. This could be moral issue, or an aesthetic one. Personally, I don't think you can improve over nature and think the look you are describing is tacky. That is an aesthetic judgment. The body is the temple of the Holy Spirit and we are to conserve it to honor his presence. That is a moral judgment. I don't hold much for religion so I will go with the aesthetic judgment, that is, it is just plain tacky. The mothers you are talking about don't want their kids thinking that they are some sort of "riot girls," or something to that effect. One reason is that this is just a silly and elusive phase and you will be like her before long. Unfortunately, that is the way the cookie crumbles.

In a word, yes. And that has been true for the past few years. A "crossover" is a sorry attempt to convince people that a stationwagon-like vehicle is as cool as an SUV.

Personally, I prefer a stationwagon to either an SUV or minivan. A true SW combines the comfort and efficiency of a sedan with the utility and seating of a minivan or SUV. For that reason, I'll keep my trusty old '91 on the road as long as possible.

I think they're cool versions of the station wagon. My 92 Corolla spends more time off road than 99% of the SUV's out there. People also feel safer in an SUV than they would in a car. I'm not too sure why, half the time they try to avoid the crash and end up rolling the thing. Thank God for seatbelts and airbags to let them buy another SUV the next day.

I miss the days when the only reasons to have and SUV or a truck where to tow something heavy, for work, or you really liked/needed to go down some messed up dirt roads.

Generally, minivans are safer, more roomy, get slightly better mileage, and have more convenient access. That's why they're great for young families. But they aren't very attractive, for the most part. So people get SUV's instead. I, too, don't understand why most people get them. I understand a family getting a Ford Explorer, but I bet 80% of the owners of the much larger Excursion really should have gotten the Explorer instead.

Recently automakers have figured out to make station wagons and minivans look like SUV's. Good examples are the Toyota Highlander, Lexus 330, Nisan Murano among others. GM now makes a great station wagon/minivan disguised as a SUV- the Arcadia/Enclave et al.

But whatever you call them, SUV's are too much vehicle for many of their owners.

Do you honestly think that kids asking why she hasn't got hair is the most important thing on this family's mind right now? When my son, then 5, had cancer, I really didn't give a hoot what anybody outside of those making medical decisions for him thought, and that included teachers, his friends and my friends.

When your kid has cancer, or when you have it yourself, BS from outsiders about what you should do is simply a minor annoyance, like a gnat. You hardly notice it, and you sure don't lose any sleep over it.

im only half black but here's my advice....

for yo hair (mines relaxed)- i'd say if yo hair is long to get some hot layers and some face framing highlights. if u dont got one get a curling iron. a lil bit of flip an a lil curl adds some flava to yor hairstyle. if its shorter still get some layers and highlgiths then flip the ends of yor hair out.

clothes- you should stick wit something that says sexy but not slutty which means if u wearin tight pants dont make the shirt suction tight. and vise versa if u got a tight shirt dont make yor pants skin tight wear em a lil looser. but still lookin good ( i gotta big butt and lil tiny waist so i do like the tight jeans)

most importantly though is put yo own flava into what u wear and how u wear it. make yo style yo own. good luck!

Ok so there is this kid at school we both hang out in the same social group, but for someone reason or another he keeps making fun of me and targeting me. For example when ever I where a new shirt he usually asks me why I am wearing that shirt? Just recently I had just gotten my hair in corn rows and he said that my hair is stupid a** f*** and that I should shave it all off. It just pisses me off that he targets me for some reason and nobody else. I could fight him, but he hasn't hit me so I have no reason to. Also telling on him won't make things better so what should I do? And why do you think he targets me when there are other kids around that he could target? I also forgot to mention that we used to be friends, but started to grow apart.

One of my friends kind of does the same thing and trys to boss me around. I just ignore it and do what I like. For example, if she doesn't like something i wear I'll keep wearing it. I was having a conversation with one of my friends about how cool it would be to have two seperate sets of arms that could retract and extend whenever I wanted. SHe said it would be a genetic impossibility to have two seperate sets of arms not touching each other. I said "Annie, think about it. I'd have a set of normal arms and a set of retractable arms... He needs to be picked up and removed from other kids when he does that. If he hits you, put him in another room where there are no toys or diversions. You may have to do it several times before he realizes that it is not a good idea to hit. Hitting him is not a good idea because it re-enforces his idea that he can hit others.

my son was like that. he is now 14 years old. i can only tell you from our space that we went through hell before finding out what was up. my son ended up being alergic to something called sodium lactate. it's a flavor enhancer used in just about everything. chips to raw meats. sometimes it is listed and sometimes it is not. it is a natural by-product from the fermenting process, such as in pickles. we read lables and limited his intake where we could. it stores up in your body, so we had to give it a couple of weeks. he was truly transformed. he is such a loving kid now. we went through alot before getting to that point, including having him crisised to a facility. check it out with his diet. a therapist would save you both some pain. hope it helps.

Stop hitting your child. Your child is only copying what you are doing to him. Put him in timeout when he hits. Remove him from whatever is going on when he hits. Remove and isolate him. Choose a timeout location such as the bottom step in the house or a special chair that is away from the main activity in the house. Hold him on that spot if you have to at first but continue to explain that his behaviour is unacceptable and will not be tolerated. Keep him there for about 2 minutes. If he gets up, the 2 minutes start over. Be prepared for a battle of wills but do not give up. Don't hit him. He will not understand why it is okay for you but not for him. If he is not getting negative attention when he acts this way, he will stop. Make sure you give him lots of positive attention and catch him when he is being good. Lavish him with praise when he is being good or does something good. He will begin to seek positive praise and attention instead of negative.

There is nothing wrong with spanking if it is used appropriately. Spanking is best used when the action the child is doing can cause injury to themselves or others. Such as Playing in the road, hanging out a window, etc. By not using spanking except in these conditions....it becomes much more harsh and the child gets the point right away that it will NOT be tolerated. And never spank while your angry! This way... your child doesn't get the idea that when he/she is mad they need to hit what caused them too get mad. LIGHT spanking on the hand is a good way to correct BABIES and is used immediately only when they touch something that could be dangerous... they get the idea..."i just got an ouch 3 times for trying to touch that...it hurts..im gonna find something else to touch. It is not good to use past baby-hood (when they have limited understanding). When they are capable of understanding the more complex and tactful punishments... they work better. Time-out is your best answer for an 18 mo old. He will begin to understand when he hits people... he has to be alone and it's no fun... just remember to not give in and always follow through.

Im not a parent or anything, but i do have experiance dealing with children like this. First of all, "...spank him on the butt he will hit back he will litteraly run after you to hit you when you walk away." Im assuming this is your first child. no offence. When you punish a child for hitting (this basically only applies to punishing them for injuring another person or animal) you dont want to hit them unless nothing else will work, then and only then would i resort to this. If the child has a favorite toy, when he hits take it away from him. and never back down. after you punish your child dont walk away. either stand near him or put him in a room by himself and tell him if it happens one more time he will be in more trouble. if he continues try telling him that he will not be able to play ever again if he continues. make sure that when he is being good you reward him with something small, such as a piece of candy or play a game with him. this will show him that there is a reason to be good

You can't really "correct" an 18 month old, and an18 month old doesn't mean to be mean. He can't really be mean until he's much older. Every single time he goes to hit or pull hair, you need to grab him immediately, get down to his eye level, say "no hitting" or "no hair pulling" firmly, and pick him up so you can redirect his attention to something else right away, so he can't continue the behavior. (As you swoop him up and away from the other child, you can say "Ooooooh, look at that big truck" or "Come on, we're gonna go get a big old drink of water!!!" ---or anything to distract him.)

It's just confusing for a child if you try to enforce a "no hitting" rule by hitting him. If he runs after you to hit you, you turn around quick, kneel down, and grab his wrists, and say clearly and firmly right into his face, "No hitting!" Then pick him up and distract him again, call his attention to something else right away--- "Ooooh, look, there's a little doggie, lets play with the little doggie " or whatever occurs to you. You have to move quickly though. If he throws things, same thing. You grab him, then kneel down at his eye level, and tell him immediately and firmly, "No throwing things!" and then IMMEDIATELY distract him---whisk him up and carry him off to a totally different activity. After you've done it a few times he should get it. When he's older you can tell him why there's no hitting and throwing things, but he won't really be able to understand any discussion of his behavior until he's four or five. Right now he just needs to be redirected.
