Head lice tip that works anything you buy from the chemist don't work.?

My 5 year old daughter has had head lice for 4 months now, I have purchased 5 different hair products from the chemist and 2 from the doctors and none worked, even when combed out they were still alive and still alive the next day, (how hard are they to remove ?) however i found the answer, cover the kids face with a towel put white spirit all over the hair until all wet, cover the hair with a plastic bag and leave for 30 minutes, then comb out, you will find another 40 more lice some dead but some not moving but will be a sleap then wash the hair with shampoo and the jobs done they cant hide or run now, the scalp may be slightly itchy during treatment that all also cover the back of neck with the towel and the eyes and face.

My mother use to spray my hair with wasps killing spray. I know people might object to this, but applied very carefully, ALL of the lice and their eggs died within half an hour of holding the hair in plastic bag. Then comb away.

What's white spirit, all three of my girls have had head lice for about the same ammount of time. I live in the US. Let me know if you have a minute. Thanks. Good Luck, those little buggers really like to hang on, don't they?

you have to pick the eggs out as well

Don't use white spirit ,Vodka safer and the alcohol in Vodka has got no poison in it.

What about the eggs, though?

Besides disinfecting the whole house, and for older people, dying your hair will keep them away.

just keep on combing it every day. It breaks the lices legs and you will get out the eggs too. If you do it enough the lice wont be able to reproduce cos they wont be able to move. Its best with wet hair and conditioner. Then when you are done just wash it out.

you have to get oil also in their hair makes it easier to take out the eggs which you have to do because if you don't their going to hatch and get more and more and MORE!!!! i have had lice before in like... 5th grade and for about 4 months, it was bad, real real bad! hopefully you got them before they were huge and crawling on their faces or else you'll have to deal with them for a long time. get a small comb and put like some type of oil in it and slowly go to each piece.. it should take like a week do this for about 4 hours every day until you see improvement and keep doing that until every last piece is gone!!!

the easiest cheapest way to deal with this, is lemon juice rub it in then add some honey mixed with water onto it and use the comb to brush it out, works everytime!

There is also a product out on the market that loosens the eggs. It take the "glue" that they use too adhere to the hair and loosens it for easier combing.

The key to getting rid of them is to get rid of the eggs as well.

when u leave thre lotion in for a short while you need to use a fine comb to take everything out they dont come out themselves

Put mayo, yes mayo, in her hair and vinegar (make a mixture) and it will kill them and take a shower after use one of those lice combs and comb out dead eggs. Also try leaving it in for a long period of time.

we used mayonaise and a plastic cap over night and go through each hair for nits ( my daughter's hair was too fine for a fine comb so we used our fingers) each morning.that treatment once a week for about three weeks worked for us. you also have to treat the environment like bedding carpet and stuffed toys. the toys can be locked up in garbage bags or vacuum sealed so no air gets in for two weeks. bedding can be washed in very hot water, carpet can be pulled up and replaced or treated with insecticide. also teach your children how not to share certain things with their friends like combs, hats, scarves, and hoodies

I had the same problem when my daughter was the same age. There are many things you MUST do to finally eradicate these things. (I shudder at the phrase"Nit picking).

1. Must pick out the nit's (eggs) one by one.

2. Must seal all toys in plastic bags for 2-3 weeks.

3. Must wash ALL household fabrics in HOT water and any possible bleach and seal un-used fabrics in plastic bags until lice are gone for good. Beds and pillows must be encased in plastic for the duration.

4. You MUST find out where the lice are coming from. Ours were from a child my daughter was playing with and as soon as I figured that out we stopped the play dates until we got rid of the lice.

5. Never share combs, brushes, hats, headbands, ponybands, etc with anyone else.

6. IF you can't kill the live lice via medicated shampoos. You MUST cut the hair off, this will also get rid of any living nits. You will have to hire a barber/beautician to come to your home - a reliable one will not allow this child in their salon.

Don't worry her hair will grow back quickly. But cutting it will save your sanity.

there is an easier way to do it there's a nit comb at the chemist which is guaranteed to work it has long tooth combs with a swirl effect around each tooth and just use with conditioner....

Use alot of conditioner when you wash her hair, it makes it alot harder for the eggs and the lice to cling onto the hair, use tea-tree shampoo which helps to kill them, and always keep he hair tied up until they are gone.

Good luck =]
