Being called names at work?

Hello All

Some guy at work has been calling me baldy or slappy, i think he thinks its funny but the joke is wearing very thing with me.

I had cancer as a kid so don't have much hair never had and got bullied at school about it so i find it offensive what he is doing.

It's amazing how certain people at work think that certain name calling is ok. I mean if i called someone a blacky or fatty to there face im sure they would take offence. It's like its socialbly expectable to call some bald.

Should I just send him an emailing him to stop as its begining to piss me off? I suppose i could tell him quietly to please stop, I dont see why I should have to explain to him im bald. I would go to my HR department but there useless and it would be embarrassing.

Do any of you other bald guys take the name calling offensive?

You should email him first. Probably he thinks calling names is funny and makes people closer...if he does not stop you should go not with HR but with CEO or someone powerful. If they don't do something then sue them

DId you tell him you had cancer when you were a kid???? i mean if he has any sensitivity ata ll, he would understand and respect you for who you are!!! I mean, really that's just sick (of him). If not, Politely tell him to stop. Hope it works out for you :)

Aww that sucks. You should tell that guy what you told us. I know its going to embarassing and etc.,but what you just said here, it sounds like you're a strong person(mentally and physically). If that guy doesn't understand then report it. I think some bald guys do,but others don't.
