When did you find out you were mixed?

when i was little i never knew i was mixed. before i went to school i always thought how i loved my mom. she is so beautiful to me and i always wanted to look like her, and if i ever wonder why i didn't i would look around and see that everyone in her family looked different to. so i never felt out of place. it wasn't until i started school that i started to feel different. i have lived all over Asia, i have just moved here to the states. (i am going to be 18) but anyway i lived in japan mostly and living there as i did i soon found out i was different. kids at first said i was pretty because of my blond hair and blue eyes. i remember the teachers saying it. they all thought i was Asian and white at first. so i didn't get many people who brothered me. but i still remember the day my mom came to school with and i showed her around my class, i remember there faces to this day. it was as if my mom could not of had a child that looked like me and like she was to ugly to be with my father.

My mother also grew up with my grandmother as a foster mother and there were always children of differnt backgrounds living with her growing up in a time races were seprated it wasnt until high school my mother couldnt be with the other children lving in my grandmothers home even in the 1960s the world was messed up

When did you find out you were mixed?

My mother is Irish and my father was full Eastern Band Cherokee. I look much like him, of course, and people always ask me who that woman is that I'm always with. When I tell them that's my mother, they're amazed. She has long blond hair, green eyes and light skin, I have short, spiked chestnut hair, gray almond eyes, and olive skin. I look more like my Sicilian stepdad, to be honest, and people always say "Is that your stepmom?" when they see all of us out.
